Another massive week for Jose Mourinho and Chelsea
Time to focus on the Football club and the players that remain here now as we have yet another massive week ahead of us.
This afternoon we take on Stoke City in the FA Cup Fourth Round at Stamford Bridge, followed by the visit of struggling West Ham United on Wednesday and then our biggest game of season the following Monday night at Manchester City – both games in the Premier League.
We have the chance to take massive steps forward in both competitions with three victories and I fully expect us to maintain our current form.
Stoke is no easy game as always but for me not the same test under Mark Hughes as they used to be under the guidance of Tony Pulis. Yes I am only too aware that we lost at Stoke only a few weeks ago but this Chelsea team is now very different to the side they faced that day.
Chelsea seems to have settled down now and if anything, Jose Mourinho seems to have found a balance of late with the majority of players being named as first team starters on a regular basis.
In saying that, it will be interesting to see his team selection ahead of this one with the likes of Frank Lampard back in contention after missing out in recent weeks with injury.
This Chelsea side playing well and in form should beat Stoke this afternoon on paper but we still need to get out and get the job done. A victory and a place in the next round should give Jose Mourinho the present he wants on his birthday this afternoon!
Then we turn our focus to West Ham on Wednesday back in the Premier League in what could be such an important round of fixtures!
We currently sit third in the Premier League a single point behind Manchester City in second and two points behind the leaders Arsenal but get this, Arsenal travel to Southampton on Tuesday night, which is no easy game and Manchester City travel to White Hart Lane on Wednesday!
Regardless of what is going on elsewhere, we MUST remain focused on each game and concentrate all of our efforts on winning our games to see where it takes us. As long we we can beat West Ham we can have a look at the result from White Hart Lane (already knowing the Arsenal result the night before) and see where it takes us.
Then a week tomorrow, Chelsea take on Man City on the SkySports “Monday Night Football” and once again, we have it on our own hands to get the right result.
I have said it before and I will say it again, the manager makes such a difference to our football club. We have a manager who knows how to win football matches and slowly but surely, the players are following suit.
Let’s get the week of to a fantastic start this afternoon with another important win to take us through to the next round!
Come on Chelsea!
Carefree & KTBFFH!
