Antonio Conte resigns as manager of Juventus by mutual consent
Antonio Conte has decided to call time on his duties as manager of Juventus FC. The Italian reportedly decided to step down after he was unable to come to terms with the Turin club over a three-year contract renewal today.
The reason behind this decision is believed to have been the current transfer strategies and future objectives proposed to him at the club which prompted him to leave his managerial duties.
The Old Lady announced the departure of the successful manager on their official website. This brings down the curtains to one of the most successful spells of managerial history in recent times.
Juventus came back from the brink of a collapse following their relegation due to the Italian Calciopoli scandal to become champions of Italy again under Conte. Conte leaves Turin after delivering three consecutive Scudetto in his last three seasons.
Conte now is being heavily tipped to become the next Italy Coach, after Cesare Prandelli stepped down from the spot following the Azzuris disappointing World Cup campaign in Brazil. Italy suffered a consecutive group stage exit and Conte may be the right man to turn their fortunes.
