Antonio Conte: We’re not lambs to the slaughter against Bayern Munich

The Bianconeri boss seems confident in the abilities of his side coming into this mouth watering clash and wants his boys to play their own game.

Conte, in an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport said: “With this set of players I don’t fear anything or anyone. We’re not coming here as lambs to the slaughter; we’re here to play our own game.”

The manager has his sights firmly fixed on the this years’ final at Wembley, but Bavarians are the real deal themselves as they are in red hot form after hammering the fellow Bundesliga side Hamburg 9-2 at the weekend.

“We’re outsiders whereas Bayern are among the favourites along with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“We’ll look to exploit the weaknesses of a very strong side.”

Juventus are banking on their grit and fearlessness to achieve the extremely difficult task and not to rely too much on their top players, especially striker Mirko Vucinic, the old war horse and influential playmaker Andrea Pirlo, and the evergreen shot-stopper Gianluigi Buffon.

The manager added, “When I say that I fear nothing and no one with this group of players, it’s the truth. It’s better to have players who give everything for the cause than world-class individuals.”
