Arda Turan reveals why his Barcelona teammates are scared of him
One of Barcelona’s two newest first team players, Arda Turan seems to be getting on well with his new Barcelona teammates, and why wouldn't he be?
Speaking in a radio show recently, the winger joked about his teammates who were still intimated by his outburst during a match against Barcelona last year in January when he threw a boot towards a linesman while still playing for Atletico Madrid.
"In the dressing room, nobody makes jokes at me because they're afraid I'll throw shoes at them," he said. “(Luis) Suárez is the clown, (Lionel) Messi is quiet, but he is the boss. Neymar is my brother."
When it comes to Barcelona, there’s nothing else to talk about
Turan was just like any other ambitious young footballer when he was a kid. He had one dream – the dream to play for one of the greatest clubs in the history of football, and on the 6th of July last year, he fulfilled his life-long aspiration when he completed his switch to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid.
Now, his transfer move was far from ideal, knowing he wouldn’t be available for selection for the next six months because of Barcelona’s year-long transfer ban. However, the wait was definitely meriting - as Turan would insist himself - making his debut on 6 January 2016 while donning the No. 7 shirt.
"I wanted to play at Barcelona, the biggest club in the world," he said. "It's something incredible. I always dreamed of playing for Barca. It's a dream come true to play with Messi, Iniesta and Neymar. They are my idols and they form the best team in the world.”
“I respect all the candidates and I'm only thinking of playing for Barca, which is my dream," he added. "Barca wanted me and I wanted them, there was nothing else to talk about."
I guess, all is well for Turan!
