Argentina have a poor record against the Netherlands
Buenos Aires, July 7 Argentina has a history of adverse results against the Netherlands, which it will face at the semi-final of the 2014 World Cup Wednesday.
Argentina defeated the Netherlands only in the final of the 1978 World Cup, 3-1 in Argentina and lost twice in their four meetings.

Argentina and the Netherlands faced each other eight times internationally, with the Dutch recording four wins, three draws and one loss.

Stalemate in 2006:
Their last encounter was during the 2006 World Cup in Germany where they drew 0-0. In that tournament, the dutch were knocked in the round of 16 by eventual semi-finalists Portugal and Argentina were eliminated by hosts Germany in the quarterfinals. Argentina suffered the same fate in the next edition in South Africa, whereas Netherlands went all the way to the final and lost to Spain.
With Sergio Aguero all set to return, Argentina would look to set that record straight. But they certainly wouldn’t want to take it to the penalties as Tim Krul has warned that he would be studying about the Argentine players penalty techniques as well ahead of the clash.
