Arsenal 4-1 West Ham: 5 Talking Points
SCORERS: Arsenal - Monreal 51' Ramsey 82' Lacazette 85' 89'; West Ham - Arnautovic 64'
Arsenal Football Club roared back in the final 8 minutes of the game after being deadlocked till the 82nd minute on a day that they were expected to pay tribute to their boss by putting on a show.
Davis Moyes' men did a job on the Arsenal side who struggled to break down the two banks of four in the dark blue of United. Monreal opened the scoring in the second half after which Marko Arnautovic got the visitors back on terms.
Arsenal then took things to heart and put the hammer to the pedal, as they flew past the Hammers in the final stages of the match.
Here are the talking points:
#5 Someone forgot to explain to the men in red the sheer significance of the occasion
A hideous start to a fixture that has been built up in such a special manner. Everyone turned up expecting a great beginning to the the long goodbye, but the players failed to match it with the football on the pitch.
Arsenal seemed lethargic and out of creative juice, with Ozil not involved at all in the fixture. They somehow managed to lumber through the first forty-five with no real moments of brilliance.
A pity, considering the significance of the occasion.
