Aaron Ramsey unlikely to feature in North London derby
Midfielder Aaron Ramsey is unlikely to be fit for Arsenal‘s trip to fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday, although the player joined training a week ago, and was scheduled to be fit for the fixture.
A thigh injury sustained at West Ham United on Boxing Day ended the Welsh international’s magnificent run of form for the Gunners, who was undoubtedly their best player until that point.
Manager Arsene Wenger has been hit with an injury crisis with record signing Mesut Ozil set to miss action for close to 6 weeks after pulling up limp against Bayern Munich, and Jack Wilshere, too, who is out injured for two months.
Other high profile names on the treatment table include instrumental winger Theo Walcott, left back Kieran Gibbs and January loan signing Kim Kallstrom.
This does not bode well for Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes as the Gunners enter the crunch period of the season, having to face the top sides in successive games in the next couple of weeks.
Their next encounter at the White Hart Lane is more than a six-pointer, with reputation and bragging rights at stake.
