Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin expects to race Usain Bolt
Hector Bellerin is waiting for a “call from Jamaica” as he expects world-record holder Usain Bolt to race against him. The Arsenal right back had earlier challenged the fastest man on earth and a Puma 'speed bot' to a race after the Rio Olympics this year. The Jamaican had accepted the challenge and the world awaits a race between the two speed-demons.
Arsenal previously announced that the 21-year-old Spanish defender had broken Theo Walcott’s 40m sprint record at the club. When the timings were made public, it came to light that Bellerin might actually be faster than Bolt in a 40m sprint.

Bolt, who won three gold medals in 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in the Rio Olympics 2016, had admitted that while the Spaniard maybe faster in the 40m sprint, he will still beat Bellerin in the full 100m.
As the face of the Puma FC Herzo collection, Bellerin interacted in a Q&A session in London.
“It’s not me you have to ask, I’ve been waiting for that phone call from Jamaica.
“I challenged him a while ago and he said maybe after Rio. So I’m just waiting now, need to push him.”
Ever since signing for the North London side, Bellerin has been known for his rapid pace and acceleration. Everyone is aware of the defender’s capability of running down the flank, beating opponents with his pace and a few have wondered if he could beat the ‘Fastest man on earth’ in a race.

Bolt has a haul of 9 gold medals in the Olympics and became the unprecedented triple-triple Olympic champion. And Bellerin might find it easier to race his team-mates, rather than take on the Jamaican beast.
As reported in the Daily Mail, speaking to KCTV Bellerin had to say:
“We have a quick team full of speedsters, I think it’s really important in the game now. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain always says he wants to race me and Theo (Walcott) but it never really happens.”
Bellerin also spoke about Arsenal’s chances in the Champions League.
“Definitely to make it further in the Champions League. I thought it was a great point (in PSG) because it wasn’t the greatest of starts,” said the Spaniard.
“We’re very confident as a team, we’ve been together for a few seasons now. We’ve had some great additions to the team and there’s a lot of hunger and desire.” The Gunners face Hull City next this weekend at the KCOM Stadium in a Premier League fixture.
