A touching story is going viral on Facebook, which once again proves that humanity can survive even the worst demons of its own creation. The heartwarming news involves Arsenal and Tottenham fans, who in general, don’t get on and hate each other as North London rivals. However, on an odd day, it was an Arsenal fan who saved a Tottenham supporter’s life by donating a kidney.

Tim Reid, wrote an emotional tribute to Dany Reid but couldn’t resist poking fun at his ‘best pal’ adding: “Although you’re a dirty gooner.” He also posted an image of both fans wearing their club jerseys in the hospital. They share the same surname but it seems they’re not related.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur share a rivalry that is arguably the fiercest in the Premier League. The North London derby is a testimony to some high-intensity football on the pitch and an infectiously loud atmosphere in the stands every time the two sides meet. In most cases, fans live next to their rivals and absolutely despise everything about each other; the uncomfortably close stadiums, their heroes, reserve players and anything or anybody that allows them to play with the emotions of the opposite set of fans.

In spite of such a stereotype, Dany Reid assisted his rival-fan friend by being a saviour at the cost of his own life. In gratitude to this act, Tim Reid said, “No words can do justice for what this guy has done for me and my family. Gave me a second chance at life whilst putting his own life at risk by giving me a kidney without any hesitation. You are a true hero and everyone deserves the right to know what a top guy you are the courage you have shown. Although you’re a dirty gooner I'm so proud to call you my best pal. Rest up brother I'm not far behind you!”

In response to the kindness shared publicly over social media, Dany Reid replied, “No brainer for me give my best pal the opportunity at a normal life cherish it and look forward to all the good times with your family and we can get back to being spiteful footy fans ”

Best pals are recovering in the hospital and hope to be fit for the time when their conflict of interest makes them hostile once again. The first North London derby is scheduled to be held at The Emirates on the 5th November 2016.
