Rumour: Arsenal and Liverpool set to lose battle for Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez as Juventus close in
Arsenal and Liverpool are losing the battle to sign Chilean star Alexis Sanchez this summer as he edges closer to a move to Juventus, according to the Daily Star.
Sanchez’s future is up in the air after it was revealed that a number of players would be leaving the club in the summer at the Nou Camp. Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been chasing Sanchez in an attempt to lure him to the Premier League, however, it seems Italian Serie A champions, Juventus, have taken the initiative and look set to sign the forward.
Reports in Italy are suggesting that the Old Lady are in the driving seat having already agreed terms with the winger and they just need to sort small details with Barcelona to complete the signing of the striker.
Brendan Rodgers admitted recently that he is looking to strengthen his attack, despite boasting a side which scored the second-most goals in the Premier League last season – 101. The Reds possess one of the leagues most potent partnership in Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez, however, Rodgers is keen to bolster his side with more games to play after they qualified for the Champions League.
Arsenal meanwhile are looking to take the pressure off Olivier Giroud after the Frenchman led the line for the majority of the 2013/14 season and struggled with fatigue.
