Gooners around the globe would have been in a state of fearful shock since the moment when they saw their star play maker Mesut Ozil limping off the pitch after taking a knock in the Germany’s 5-3 victory over Sweden (yesterday).

Earlier in the game, the assist king scored on his birthday with a neatly finished shot. His contributions was important in Germany’s comeback after going 2-0 down. Ozil also had an assist in the game. During the closing stages of the match, the Arsenal star was forced to leave the pitch with a knock to his knee. He headed straight to the dressing room for the treatment.

To the fans’ relief, latest reports from Germany including Bild newspaper suggest that the injury is just a minor bruise and the former Real Madrid man is expected to be back soon.

With Santi Cazorla returning to fitness, Arsene Wenger may rest Ozil against Norwich on Saturday so that he can comeback to full fitness before their crucial champions league game against Borussia Dortmund in the midweek.
