Arsenal will reportedly receive £500,000 from Hoffenheim for Reiss Nelson.

Nelson who has been with the Gunners since the age of seven is set for a move away to enhance his chances of regular first-team football.

The England youth international has yet to feature in the Premier League under Unai Emery and has been keen to follow his friend Jadon Sancho to Germany, who is playing for Borussia Dortmund. He will be even keener to join Sancho after being linked with an England call-up, which did not look possible a year ago.

Nelson is hoping that a season away from the Emirates will increase his chances of nailing down a regular spot in the first team.

According to German outlet Kicker, Hoffenheim will pay £500,000 for Nelson for a season-long loan. Nelson before leaving is expected to sign a new contract which has been an issue that needs to be resolved.

Nelson is believed to be the academy's hottest prospect since Jack Wilshere and people feel he has great potential to be just as good, if not better.

There is no actual agreement yet, but the deal has to be complete by the 31st August. There is still an obstacle in the way of the deal being agreed as Nelson's new contract is not yet signed.

It is understood that this new deal will be a four year deal with an option for a fifth. The salary amount remains unknown, but it looks set to be a big increase on his current contract.

The player featured heavily in the Europa League and Carabao Cup last season and was named the Premier League 2 player of the season after scoring 9 times in 11 appearances for the under 23s.
