Arsenal transfer news: PSG ready to swap Cavani for Sanchez, Gunners in pole position to sign Bayern target and more - 6th October 2017
PSG willing to give up Cavani to make space for Sanchez
The Alexis Sanchez saga rumbles on with Manchester City and PSG being the frontrunners for his signature. In fact, the former almost signed him on deadline day but for Arsenal failing to sign his replacement in Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco.
As Sanchez's contract expires at the end of the season, PSG do not want to wait till the summer due to the expected competition for the Chilean's signature. In order to make the deal happen, the French club are willing to give Edinson Cavani to Arsenal in a swap deal, as per Le Parisien.
After PSG shook the footballing world with the signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, they cannot sign another high-profile player without balancing the books. Thus, Cavani, who had an altercation with Neymar regarding set-piece and penalty duties recently, could be allowed to leave to form the new MSN (Mbappe, Sanchez, Neymar).
Gunners ahead in the race to sign Abdülkadir Ömür
Arsene Wenger is reportedly interested in Trabzonspor's 18-year old wonder-kid who is already playing in their first team. Ömür is wanted by Bayern Munich, who reportedly bid €38 million, and Atletico Madrid as well.
However, Arsenal are ahead in the race as per Trabzonspor's former manager, Sadi Tekelioglu, who revealed:
“Arsenal want to sign Abdulkadir. I heard that Atletico Madrid are interested in him as well. But Arsenal are ahead of them in the race to sign Omur."
“Arsene Wenger does a good job when it comes to discovering young players. Abdulkadir will be a success when he moves to Europe.”
Wenger's eye for talent is well-known and it remains to be seen whether this materialises into a concrete deal.
Michal Sá?ek wants to follow in Rosicky's footsteps
The 21-year old defensive midfielder plying his trade at Sparta Prague is a huge fan of Tomas Rosicky and wants to follow in his countryman's footsteps. The Czech player spoke to calciomercato.com:
“Tomas has always been my model. It’s great to be in a team with him. After each game, he gives me advice and helps me analyse the performance. I wonder if one day I can follow in his footsteps on the pitch of the Emirates Stadium.”
A lot of players dream of playing for the top European clubs, therefore Sá?ek needs to improve constantly and consistently to realise his dream.
