Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Jack Wilshere could go to Juventus on loan

Wilshire has endured a terrible time with injuries

Arsenal are willing to let Jack Wilshere leave on loan for the 2016-17 season before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday. This comes as a surprise as the 24-year-old is one of Arsene Wenger's favourite players at the club and was expected to be a future captain. This news might be a double shock for the lifelong Arsenal fan and player, as he was axed from Sam Allardyce's England squad for the World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.

A loan deal makes sense as after returning from a broken leg as he needs regular game time to get into contention for a place in the England squad and also in the Arsenal squad next season. With the arrival of Granit Xhaka, Wilshere is going to find it tough to cement a place in his favoured centre midfield position.

The existing players like Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and Mohammed Elneny are also vying for the same spot as Wilshere and the young Englishman is struggling for fitness having played just 37 minutes this season.

Juventus are considered favourites to sign Wilshere in the next two days as the transfer period closes on Wednesday 11pm BST. The Italian champions are in the market for a midfielder after losing Paul Pogba to Man United. Blaise Matuidi was rumoured to be his replacement but now the 24-year-old England international has emerged as Juve's no.1 target with Sky Sports Italia have made them the bookmaker's favourite to land Wilshere.

Their efforts will be boosted by Arsene Wenger, who has also made it clear that he won't let Wilshere leave to a top four rival scuppering any chance of a move to Liverpool who are in need of a top quality midfielder.

The deal would make sense for both clubs and the player as well as it allows Wilshere to regain match fitness in a top quality side while offering The Old Lady greater depth to their midfield sans a massive transfer fee.

When asked about Jack Wilshere's exclusion from the England squad, Allardyce explained, "Jack just hasn't had enough game time. Hopefully, he will get that in the future at Arsenal.

“If Jack Wilshere was playing every week for Arsenal he would be in the squad, but, unfortunately, he isn't. It is game time for him and it has been few and far between because he has had too many injuries, unfortunately. It is a question of game time and the contribution he is making to Arsenal and he is not doing that at the moment, so I left him out.”
