Arsene Wenger denies speculation on Morata loan deal

Ahead of Arsenal‘s game against Hull city on Wednesday, manager Arsene Wenger quashed the speculation that he had inquired about a loan move for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. Rumours circulating recently had linked the out of favor striker with a move to the current Premier league toppers.

When asked if he had inquired about the availability of Morata, Wenger replied,”There’s no truth in that, not been in touch.”

Arsenal have made no secret of their desire to sign another striker who would be able to provide able back up for Olivier Giroud. Despite having made a few appearances for the team in recent months, Bendtner is clearly not rated highly by Wenger. Bendtner in the meanwhile has also voiced out his frustration at lack of playing time.

Arsenal have also been recently linked with a  £6.5m move for Alexander Pato which was subsequently rejected by Corinthians.The former Rossoneri star and the Los Blancos U21 striker have found first team opportunities difficult to come by as they have struggled with form and fitness.Recent rumours suggested that Wenger was willing to move for either of the players in belief that he could resurrect their careers.

Arsenal are currently top of the league with four points separating them and second placed Chelsea.
