Arsene Wenger looking at signing five top stars at Arsenal this summer, according to reports
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking at signing five top stars to add to his first-team this summer, according to the Daily Star.
Arsenal have been linked with plenty of quality players around Europe after finishing fourth and winning their first trophy for 9 years last season. The Gunners beat Hull City 3-2 at Wembley in the FA Cup final to finally end their long wait for a trophy and have been linked with a number of top quality additions to build on their success.
Arsenal have been linked with AC Milan and Italy striker Mario Balotelli, despite his attitude problems and constant clashes with teammates and staff wherever he’s been. A £25 million fee has been rumoured but that has also been stretched up by £10m in some reports.
Arsenal have also been linked with Mario Mandzukic, who could leave Bayern Munich this summer. Robert Lewandowski left Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season and will join Bayern next month after signing a pre-contract agreement earlier this year. That seems to have pushed the Croatian striker out of the Bayern door, despite leading their attack over the last couple of years, picking up trophies everywhere.
Another target is Ivory Coast right-back Serge Aurier, who is thought to be closer than any other target to joining the Gunners after recently announcing to a fan that he was joining the north London club.
Wenger is also looking at Alexis Sanchez of Barcelona who could leave due to the interest in Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who will undoubtedly replace the Chilean in the Catalans’ attack.
