Arsene Wenger set to extend contract with Arsenal
Fresh from leading Arsenal to the FA cup triumph in the Final against Hull City, manager Arsene Wenger is set to sign a new deal with the club. Affectionately known to his fans and the British Media as ” Le Proffesuer “, the Frenchman’s affair with his beloved Club, which started back in 1996, will continue.
About the deal, Arsene Wenger said , “Yes (it will be done), because I go to Brazil on the 10th of June.”
Arsene Wenger has been the driving force behind the club’s success, he has helped Arsenal win three FA Premier League titles and five FA cup titles. The recent FA cup title broke Arsenal’s nine year title drought during which Arsene Wenger has come under some serious criticism for failing to deliver results.
The title came as a relief of sorts for Arsene Wenger as he commented:
“We live in a world where people tell you always what you have not (done), they never tell you that you have done something as well.”
He also pointed out one of Arsenal’s strengths compared to other Clubs:
“The quality of the consistency is important for the club and on that front we have been better than everybody else – there are only two clubs in Europe who have 17 years consecutively qualified for the Champions League and that consistency demands special values inside the club.”
