AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic flattered by Manchester United interest
Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has admitted that he is “flattered” by the interest shown in him by Manchester United and also left the door ajar for a switch to Old Trafford in the future, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Bosnian, who joined Roma from Ligue 1 side Lyon in 2011, has been linked with a move to the reigning Premier League champions and big spending Paris Saint Germain next summer after a string of impressive performances for the Serie A side. Pjanic has almost been an ever present in a Roma side that sits second in the league, having made 19 appearances and missing just one league game this season.
However, although the 23 year-old’s recent comments have revealed his affection for the Italian club, he also dropped a hint that a deal could happen in the future: “It’s flattering, and I am sure glad to hear that (the links with Manchester united). I have become a supporter of Roma and should there be a transfer it will require that the three parties agree,” he declared.
His comments suggest his future lies in the hands of the club and a significant fee could tempt the Italians to sell. Fellow Roma midfielder Michael Bradley recently joined Toronto FC, so it seems unlikely Pjanic would be allowed to move in January, but David Moyes will monitor the situation for the remainder of the season.
Miralem Pjanic has created the most chances for Roma this season with 42.
