Ashley Young out of action for unspecified period with hamstring injury
Ashley Young has suffered a hamstring injury in the match against Stoke City while running down the wing. He was withdrawn in the second half after pulling up unchallenged.
With United’s injury curse, players are having a difficult time and manager finds it very difficult to pick a team without any changes. Louis Van Gaal is worried about the injury of his in-form player. He described the injury as serious and said Young may miss many weeks.
"He has a hamstring injury. He's out for many weeks, I think. But I'm not a doctor so we have to wait for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow." Van Gaal told after the match.
Injury crisis at Old Trafford
It is confirmed that United will miss him in the upcoming FA Cup Third round match against Yeovil on 4th of January, and is set to miss a significant period beyond that.
Since the start of the season, United have suffered around 50 separate cases of injuries. The injury curse continues for Manchester United. Angel di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind are the most notable absentees from the players at Louis van Gaal’s disposal.
