Aston Villa snubs Bradford's offer
Aston Villa has declined the offer Bradford made to the club to share the profit made by either club on making it to the final of the Capital One Cup.
The amount for the club making it into the final is £1million, just in ticket sales, TV rights and prize money. Bradford made an unofficial offer to Aston Villa to equally share the £1million.
Although some of the members of the Villa board very keen on the deal, manager Paul Lambert dismissed the idea, which would have needed the Football League’s approval. Bradford were 3-1 up after the first leg, and did admit to possibly being knocked out. The club then sent the notice regarding their offer to Aston Villa.
Bradford, who won the match 4-3 on aggregate, is the first fourth-tier club to reach the League Cup final for 51 years.
