Atlanta’s Giulio Migliaccio in trouble after running over 'rival' cars with a tank
Metro reports that Atlanta’s Giulio Migliaccio has been summoned for hearing by the Italian football federation after the midfielder was involved in a prank which saw a tank crush two cars earlier this month.
The Italian federation though hasn’t said anything on when the disciplinary commission will take up hearing or what punishment the 32-year-old could face.
The incident transpired at the Atalanta supporters’ annual pre-season festival on July 14. Migliaccio was riding a tank driven by Atalanta fans which crashed two cars which were in the colours of rival teams Brescia and AS Roma.
Migliaccio, who had just joined from Palermo the previous week, apologised quickly and said he had nothing to do with the crash.
He said immediately after the incident that: “I only realised when the tank was going over them, and since I could not see because I was high up and at the back, I did not know that they had the symbols of two football clubs on them.
“Even as an unaware protagonist, I’m very sorry for the incident.”
