Atletico de Kolkata sign goalkeeper Juan Calatayud for the second edition of the
Defending Indian Super League champions Atletico de Kolkata have signed Spanish goalkeeper Juan Jesus Calatayud Sanchez from Hungarian champions Videoton FC for the ISL Season 2. 35 year old Antequera-born Juan Calatayud started off his career with Malága CF where he made it from the junior via the 'B' team to the senior team with loan spells at Algeciras CF and FC Getafe in-between.
Thereafter he played for Racing Santander, Hércules CF and RCD Mallorca in the Spanish leagues. In 2013 he left Spain to go to Hungary and was a key player for Videoton FC.
With the signing of Juan Calatayud, Atlético de Kolkata have completed their minimum quota of eight foreign players as they retained José Miguel 'Josemi' González Rey, Francisco de Borja Fernández and Ofentse Nato. Further, they signed Iain Edward Hume (Kerala Blasters FC), Juan Jesús Calatayud Sánchez (Videoton FC, HUNGARY), Sameehg Doutie (Supersport United, South Africa), Jaime Gavilán Martínez (Platanias FC, Greece) and José Luis Espinosa Arroyo (Atletico de Madrid 'B', Spain).
But the champions have still not announced, who their marquee player would be in the ISL Season 2 with Luis Garcia set to not return.
