Atletico de Kolkata sign Spanish duo of Tiri & Jaime Gavilán for ISL - Season 2!

The inaugural Indian Super League champions Atletico de Kolkata have announced the addition of two Spanish players in defender José Luis Espinosa Arroyo and midfielder Jaime Gavilán Martínez for the ISL - Season 2.

30 year old Valencia-born midfielder Jaime Gavilán Martínez joins ATK from Greek Superleague side Platanias FC. The former Spanish junior international had started his youth career with Sporting Benimaclet and FC Valencia.

It was with La Liga side FC Valencia that he had his first break at the senior level. Thereafter he played for CD Tenerife, Getafe CF, UD Levante before moving abroad to Greece to join Platanias FC.

Gavilán had his most successful time at Getafe, for whom he has 168 La Liga games and 10 goals to his name.

Young defender José Luis Espinosa Arroyo, better known as Tiri, joins ATK from their sister club Club Atlético de Madrid's 'B' Team who were relegated from the Spanish Segunda División B (third division) last season.

The 23 year old left-footed defender, who was born in Los Barrios, has played 85 matches for Club Atlético de Madrid B over the last three seasons after he had joined the capital club from Cádiz CF 'B' after he had started his career with the Cádiz youth teams.

With the signing of Tiri and Gavilán, ATK have signed two different kind of players. Tiri is a young and energetic defender, while Gavilán has the right level of experience which he can bring to the ATK midfield which already contains Borja Fernandez and Nato.
