Cristiano Ronaldo will return to the Spanish capital to face his old rivals Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday. Diego Simeone's men enter this tie with a shaky record in recent weeks, having lost two of their last three games.

On the other hand, Juventus have been unstoppable in the Serie A, securing 66 points in 24 games. However, they have not looked like their all-conquering selves in the Champions League just about edging Manchester United out to secure top spot in Group H.

Juventus are clearly seen as favourites and they will be looking to nick an away goal or two in order to pile the pressure on the Spanish club. Simeone and Massimiliano Allegri are tactically sound and the team which is more clinical on the night will come out on top in this game.

Injuries

Atletico Madrid have been dealt a huge blow as their star defender Lucas Hernandez will miss the first leg due to a knee injury. Koke has recovered in time to face Allegri's side though and should return to the starting lineup.

Juventus will miss their midfield pivot Sami Khedira and their backup winger Juan Cuadrado for this tie as they have both been ruled out due to injury.

Suspensions

Neither side has any suspensions.

Player form

Antoine Griezmann has been in good form this season, bagging 18 goals in all competitions. A threat from set-piece situations as well, the French International will have a huge role to play. He has also scored 4 goals in the Champions League and leads the way for Atletico Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been the most in-form player for Juventus. The forward has found the back of the net 18 times this season, but he has been underwhelming in Europe as he has netted just one goal. He will have his task cut out for him when he comes up against Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez who are producing stellar defensive performances week in week out.
