Atletico Madrid weighing up to re-sign Torres
Sources report that Atletico Madrid are sizing up for a move to re-sign their former, and current Chelsea, striker Fernando Torres. The Madrid side look to sign Torres on a season long loan deal in the summer, and end his Stamford Bridge hell.
Torres has said “I am not hiding who I am, which team I support and to which club I owe more than any other, and I hope … it will continue like that.”
Torres came through Atletico’s youth academy and has scored 75 goals for the club. He had a goal scoring rate of one goal every two games. This is in complete contrast to his current form at Chelsea, whose fans brutally booed him after Chelsea lost to Swansea last week at home, in the Capital One Cup.
But before Atletico can sign Torres, they are going to have to compete with two former Chelsea managers. Claudio Ranieri, manager of Monaco, and Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Paris Saint Germain, are also looking to sign the Spaniard. Torres is also being monitored by two other clubs. Juventus and Turkish giants, Besiktas, also have Torres under the radar.
