Barcelona reportedly set to agree swap deal with Tottenham
What’s the story?
Barcelona are enjoying a good start to the season but Ernesto Valverde is still not happy with the squad he has. The manager is keen on adding fresh faces in the squad with the deadwood replaced.
As per reports in Express, the Catalan side have joined the race to sign Danny Rose. The Englishman is a target for Manchester United, who are reportedly willing to pay £45 million for him.
Barcelona however, are interested in a swap deal. Valverde is not willing to continue working with Jordi Alba and ready to let the Spaniard move to Tottenham in return for Rose.
In case you didn’t know...
Danny Rose has not had a good time at Tottenham this season. The full-back went on an epic rant against the club just before the season began but was still offered a chance to play for them.
He questioned the club's policy of not paying the players more than £100,000 in weekly wages. He said that he wants to leave them as he thinks he has one big contract left in his career.
The heart of the matter
Danny Rose has been a target for Manchester United for a long time. The left-back was a target for them in the summer as well but they could not manage to convince Spurs to sell them.
Manchester United are reportedly willing to pay £45 million for him or do a 'cash + player' bid involving Luke Shaw. Tottenham reportedly would prefer taking Jordi Alba than getting Shaw or the money from United.

Author’s Take
Danny Rose is a very good defender but is good enough to play for Barcelona? Not a chance. He might be better off joining Manchester United as he will have a better chance of playing and will not have to adapt to a new league and style of play.
