Barcelona destroy Thailand 7-1 in the pre-season friendly

Neymar scored his first goal in Barcelona colours

Barcelona annihilated Thailand 7-1 in their pre-season friendly match at Bangkok, Thailand.

The Blaugrana coach Gerardo Tata Martino handed out starts to the €57 million import Neymar along with ‘B’ team players Frank Bagnack and Sergi Roberto.

Neymar made an immediate impact on the game as some excellent link up play between Lionel Messi and Cesc Fabregas gave Neymar the chance to score his first goal for the Catalan team in the 13th minute of the game. Barcelona followed up with three more goals, two from Messi, in the next 10 minutes to go 4-0 up within 25 minutes of the first half.

Pedro Rodriguez, assisted by Messi, piled on the misery for the home team by adding his second and Barcelona’s fifth goal of the match in the 35th minute. Towards the end of the first half, Teerasil Dangda pulled one back for Thailand much to the rejoice of the Thai fans in the stadium. The goal came as a result of a penalty conceded by Frank Bagnack who brought down the Thai player.

As the second half begun, Pedro and Gerardo Daniel Martino scored back to back goals in the 48th and 49th minute as the Blaugrana lead 7-1 with more than 40 minutes remaining. No more goals were scored though, as Martino kept rotating his players with none of the players who started were able to finish the game.
