Barcelona make official bid for Chelsea's David Luiz
According to Sky’s sources, Barcelona have made an official bid for Chelsea’s Brazilian defender David Luiz.
There has been intense speculation regarding the 26-year-old’s future, and reports from various sources suggested that Barcelona were interested in signing Luiz to bolster their defence.
However, Chelsea categorically denied all reports, while manager Jose Mourinho said only a few hours ago that David Luiz would be staying at Stamford Bridge this season.
Chelsea signed Luiz from Benfica in 2011 for a fee of around £20m. The Brazilian had a solid 2012/13 season, making a total of 57 appearances in all competitions, scoring 7 goals in the process.
Although no transfer fee has been confirmed yet, Chelsea will be expecting a fee close to £35m if they are looking to offload the Brazilian.
