Barcelona president Joan Laporta claims club rejected a €250M offer for superstar

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has claimed that the club rejected a €250 million offer for Spanish attacker Lamine Yamal.

During a recent interview with Barca One, Joan Laporta revealed that the Camp Nou outfit refused a mammoth €250 million offer for Lamine Yamal. He said:

"We were offered €250 million for Lamine Yamal, but I said no."

Two weeks ago, Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano said that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) made a €200 million bid for the 17-year-old. The report also stated that the club sees Yamal as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who left PSG to join Real Madrid in the 2024 summer window on a free transfer.

Lamine Yamal has become a pivotal player for Hansi Flick's Barcelona as well as the Spanish national team. He won the 2024 European Championships with Spain earlier this year. At the 2024 Euros, Yamal made seven appearances for La Roja, bagging one goal and four assists. His goal came during Spain's 2-1 win over France in the semi-final clash.

This season, the 17-year-old had scored five goals and made five assists for Blaugrana in 11 appearances across competitions. During the October international break, Yamal was seen limping off the ground in the last few moments of La Roja's 1-0 win over Denmark (October 13).

Fortunately, a report later revealed that the 17-year-old isn't injured but was taken off in order for him to recover from muscle fatigue. He'll travel to Barcelona, skipping Spain's Nations League clash against Serbia.

Barcelona joins Liverpool in race to sign 29-year-old Bundesliga midfielder: Reports

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich in 2025, as per Caughtoffside. The German football star had entered the last year of his contract with the Bundesliga giants and is yet to sign an extension.

Multiple European clubs are interested in getting Kimmich's signature on a free transfer next summer. As per the aforementioned report, Hansi Flick's side have also joined the race. Blaugrana are still to find a successor for Sergio Busquets after Oriol Romeu failed to live up to expectations.

The German midfielder could be a perfect fit in Hansi Flick's line-up, considering that he coached Kimmich at Bayern. However, they will face competition from Arne Slot's Liverpool, who are also interested in securing the German midfielder's services.
