Barcelona, Real Madrid not better than Juventus, feels Dybala

Paulo Dybala shone for Juventus last season

Paulo Dybala has claimed that Juventus are on the same level as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. The Argentine striker also welcomed former Blaugrana fullback Dani Alves to Juventus, claiming that Miralem Pjanic’s arrival does not mean that Paul Pogba will leave the Bianconeri, as widely rumoured.

Dybala, who is experiencing a surprising summer off, having not been named to either of Argentina’s 2016 Copa America or Olympic squads, gave a lengthy interview to Italians news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport. Dybala made his surprising claim when asked about Juve’s quality, saying “Juventus are a great team, exactly like Real, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.”

Dybala claimed that the reason for Juventus being considered one of the best teams in the world, despite playing in a poor Serie A, is their Champions League record, saying “Two years ago we came close to victory in the [Champions League] final. With Bayern last season we were eliminated with 30 seconds left, we lacked just a little luck.”

The Argentine striker scored 23 goals and assisted 9 goals in 46 appearances for Juventus in the 2015/16 season, propelling his club to a Serie A league title and Tim Cup double. Juventus have responded to their dominance, by signing Barcelona fullback Dani Alves to further strengthen their side.

Dybala is a fan of Alves, saying “I saw him play very often because I always look to Barcelona and I remember that he often exchanged well with [Lionel] Messi. It is true, they had a great understanding.”

“Dani is a very technical player, he will help us a lot in defence and in attack and I hope he can help me score many goals.”

While Dani Alves arrived on a free transfer, Miralen Pjanic was a €32million buy from Roma, a significant statement to sign one of the most creative midfielders from a rival side. However, given Pjanic’s central midfield qualities, the transfer sparked off rumours that Paul Pogba, highly sought after by Real Madrid, would leave the club.

Dybala addressed the rumours, saying “Pogba remains safe. I heard it and I think he will stay with us. We have not talked about football, but I can feel it.”
