Barcelona should have won: Gerardo Martino after Champions League draw with AC Milan
Milan - Barcelona head coach Gerardo Tata Martino insisted that Barcelona dropped two points after they were held to a 1-1 draw at AC Milan in a Champions League group game here.
Robinho opened the scoring at San Siro Tuesday before Lionel Messi equalised for the visitors in the first half. Martino suggested Barcelona should have scored more, reports Xinhua.
“We dropped two points and should have won this game against Milan. We created more scoring chances and that is why we should have won the game. We made a mistake giving Milan the chance to score their goal. We paid for that error,” he said.
He praised Messi though his performance was not as impressive.
“Messi played well, as did the rest of the team. He was in the thick of the action.”
The Argentine rued that his players wasted chances.
“It is not easy to play with so many opponents in their own half. We had the chances to score and it’s just a shame we didn’t make the most of them,” he said.
