Barcelona transfer roundup: Coutinho, Di Maria, Rashford, Gomes updates
Barcelona and Liverpool agree £148m deal for Philippe Coutinho
Catalan giants Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Liverpool for Philippe Coutinho. Barcelona have had 3 bids rejected over the past few weeks. But Daily Star reports that top-secret talks were held between the top brass of either club and they have come to an agreement.
Jurgen Klopp had earlier insisted that Liverpool have no intentions of selling Coutinho. Nou Camp has always been Coutinho's dream destination. Barcelona were more or less getting resigned to the fact that they won't be able to sign Coutinho.
But the Brazilian urged La Blaugrana to make one final move and it looks like it has paid off.
Barcelona want Marcus Rashford to replace Luis Suarez
Don Balon are at it again and this time they have linked Marcus Rashford to Barcelona. The report suggests that the Catalan giants want to sign Rashford to replace Luis Suarez. However, the move is still in contemplation and will be made only next summer.
Marcus Rashford is a youngster who has risen through the ranks to stake a claim in the Manchester United starting XI, all the way from their youth academy. He is much admired at Old Trafford and even next year, it will be a tall order for Barcelona to lure him away.
Juventus want Aleix Vidal and Andre Gomes
Mundo Deportivo reports that Juventus are interested in signing the Barcelona duo. Vidal and Gomes arrived with great expectations but have now been deemed to be not up to par. A host of clubs have been linked with Andre Gomes.
Manchester United were also reportedly interested in signing him but have cooled off their interest after signing Nemanja Matic.
Juventus were keeping tabs on Serge Aurier of PSG. But the Ivorian is close to sealing a move to Tottenham Hotspurs and the Old Lady has switched their focus to signing Vidal from Barca.
Barcelona close in on Angel Di Maria
The Daily Express has reported that Barcelona are on the verge of completing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria. Reports indicate that the deal is expected to be completed before the end of the transfer window.
Barcelona have signed Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund as a like-for-like replacement for Neymar. But they have more issues to sort out in their midfield and hope that Di Maria can put a lot of them to rest.
