Barcelona want Paul Pogba to stay at Juventus for another year

Paul Pogba drawing attention from several top level clubs like Barcelona

FC Barcelona have shown their interest to sign Juventus’ talented midfielder, Paul Pogba, and have contacted the French player’s agent Mino Raiola to discuss the possibility of a move to the Catalan side but only after a year when their ban is lifted, suggests Marca.

Pogba, who many feel is going to be the next big player, has piqued a lot of interest from several teams all across Europe including the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United, his former club.

If Josep Maria Bartomeu, the current president of Barcelona, desires to retain his position, he will definitely have to sign a big name, and there are quite a few names who come bigger than the Frenchman in world football. Bartomeu also knows that he will have to act quickly if he is to sign the player and ward of any opposition.

Ariedo Braido is the man entrusted by the president to contact the midfielder’s agent and get the move under way.

Barcelona has expressed interests in Pogba before, but the transfer ban implemented by FIFA on the Catalan club has made the situation very different. The ban which was applied due to account irregularities with the dealing of young players will prevent Barca from making any transfer deal till January 2016.

Bartomeu has made it clear that Barcelona are keen on signing the Frenchman, and want him to be patient and stay in Italy for another year until the ban is over. Signing Pogba will have a similar effect for the presidential candidate as Ronaldinho’s signing had on Joan Laporta back in 2003.
