Bastian Schweinsteiger apologizes for singing insulting anti-Dortmund chant

Bastian Schweinsteiger releases video of him apologizing on Facebook.

Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger has come up with a public apology after he was caught on camera singing an insulting song about the Bavarian’s arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund.

The World Cup winner was spotted singing 'BVB, sons of bit***s', and it was feared that the video will create rifts within the German National team that includes Dortmund players Mats Hummels, Marco Reus, Marcel Schmelzer and Roman Weidenfeller.

The video footage of Schweinsteiger singing “BVB, sons of bit****s!”

However, the flamboyant playmaker was quick enough to apologize through a video that he had posted on his facebook page.

Translation of the apology

“Hello, I'm sending this from my holidays, because I had noticed that there's a video of me which has spread throughout the internet. I want to apologize to all the fans, staff members and players of Borussia Dortmund for this. I don't want to sugarcoat anything - it's a well-known fan-chant - but I don't want to offend anyone with the cusswords; it's particularly important to me to express this.

I'm on very good terms with the Dortmund-Players, especially with Kevin Großkreutz, it has been an unlucky situation - no doubt. I want to apologize again for this, I hope the fans are going to understand this, I hope everything turns out fine. Best greetings, yours Basti.”

Understandably, Kevin Großkreutz of Borussia Dortmund replied to Schweinsteiger’s apology, stating that all of it will be forgotten.
