Bastian Schweinsteiger not concerned about his contract situation at Bayern Munich

Bastian Schweinsteiger would be glad to accept an extension offer from Bayern Munich

Bastian Schweinsteiger revealed that he does not feel the necessity to commit his long-term future to Bayern Munich. The midfielder has only 18 months more with the Bundesliga club and has not entered into any talks for a contract extension. Meanwhile, Schweinsteiger has been reportedly linked with a move to Premier League with clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United.

When asked about his contract extension, he told Sports 1, “I have no pressure.

“I know what Bayern Munich means to me and Bayern Munich also knows what they have in me. We know each other very well.

“I feel very good again and I have gathered a lot of experience. I aim to play for three or four years at the highest level,” he concluded.

Schweinsteiger, amid his knee injury, hopes that coach Pep Guardiola offers him a long term contract with new terms.

He said, “There are not so many coaches (like him) in the world, and the people responsible for Bayern know that.

“Of course, I would be glad if he would extend.”

The German International has only played for Bayern in his career, having signed for the Bavarians as a youth team player in July 1998.
