Bastian Schweinsteiger offered escape from Manchester United by Stuttgart and MLS
Bastian Schweinsteiger’s former Germany team-mate Kevin Grosskreutz has asked the 32-year-old Manchester United midfielder to join him at Stuttgart in the January transfer window. With a move to the German football team, Schweinsteiger can finally end his nightmarish move to Manchester United.
The 32-year-old midfielder World Cup winner hasn’t played a single minute of first team football for the Red Devils this season and is not even a part of Manchester United’s Europa League squad. Despite being vastly experienced, the midfield gem has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho.
Speaking in an interview with Bild, Grosskreutz, who is now playing with German football Stuttgart had a suggestion for his former teammate regarding his future.
"He's going through a difficult situation right now," said Grosskreutz speaking to Bild. "But he's coping with it really well. He's invited to join VfB this winter. We'd all be happy."

Grosskreutz and Schweinsteiger were part of the German squad who won the FIFA World Cup in 2014, ever since both footballers retired from international football but became splendid friends.
"We became friends during this tournament. He helped me from day one," said Grosskreutz.
The former Bayern Munich player was signed by Manchester United in July last year and is under contract with the club until 2018. The midfielder's signing brought a lot of joy to United fans all over the globe who were rejoicing over the experience and versatility that the German will add to the squad. But to the disappointment of the fans and Schweinsteiger himself, things didn’t pan out the way they hoped.
Schweinsteiger would be welcomed “with open arms”: MLS commissioner Don Garber
The 32-year-old has also received an offer of invitation from Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber. The American stated that if Schweinsteiger were to be interested in joining the MLS, he would be welcomed “with open arms” to the tournament. It’s not just Garber but also United States Soccer team coach; Jurgen Klinsmann described that the German’s presence in the American tournament would be “a great thing” for MLS fans.
It remains to be seen if the midfielder would be interested in a move either back to Germany or maybe even to America with Major League Soccer calling. With Jose Mourinho insisting that the 32-year-old is no longer a part of his plans, the very best thing for Schweinsteiger would be to move elsewhere.
According to SportBild, Manchester United are also reportedly keen on offloading the German player and are ready to pay the remainder of his wages which is reportedly around €20 million.
