Bastian Schweinsteiger to return when Bayern Munich play Hoffenheim
Berlin, Nov 22 Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger will recover in time for Saturday's Bundesliga home game against Hoffenheim.
Bayern coach Pep Guardiola confirmed Schweinsteiger's return, but did not clarify whether he will start the match, Xinhua reported.
The German international player has been sidelined from competitive football since helping his country win the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, last July.
Schweinsteiger had been struggling with a nagging patellar tendon problem on his left knee. He aggravated the injury in a pre-season friendly in August.
In spite of his injury concerns, Schweinsteiger was named Germany captain, following Bayern teammate Philipp Lahm's international retirement.
Lahm underwent surgery Thursday and has been ruled out for up to three months, after breaking his right ankle in training Tuesday.
