Bayern keeper Neuer signs contract extension to 2021
BERLIN (Reuters) - Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the German champions until 2021, the club confirmed on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old Germany number one, who joined Bayern from Schalke 04 five years ago, has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in Bavaria that includes a Champions League triumph in 2013 as part of a treble-winning season.
"FC Bayern have tied another key player to a long-term deal," the club said in a statement. "World goalkeeper Manuel Neuer extended his 2019 contract by two years."
Bayern, chasing another treble this season under Spaniard Pep Guardiola, have already extended deals to 2021 for several other players, including Jerome Boateng, Thomas Mueller and David Alaba.
