Bayern team bus drives off leaving Martinez stranded
Bayern enforcer Javi Martinez was left stranded after the Barca-Bayern game. After the final whistle was blown, all the Bayern players left the field except Martinez, who was busy saying his good-byes to his Spanish team-mates. Jupp Heynckes’ men promptly got into the team bus and rode back to the hotel after thumping Barca 7-0 to qualify for the European Cup final for the second time in a row.
As for poor Martinez, he returned to the dressing room just to see everyone gone and needed a cab to catch up with his team. He was eventually re-united with his team-mates after the Bayern management sorted the payment to the taxi on behalf of the 24-year old.
Barca would have only been too happy if they were to find a lost property like Martinez after they failed to bid for the player before he joined the Bayern ranks in a £33 million deal last summer from Athletic Bilbao.
