Brazil media blame Mick Jagger for their German humiliation

How am I to blame, asks Rolling Stone frontman Mick Jagger

Rock legend and Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has been deemed a bad luck charm by the Brazilian press. The 70-year-old  was there at the Belo Horizonte supporting the hosts as they were blown apart 7-1 by Germany.

The loss was Brazil's heaviest defeat in 94 years, and Jagger is now being portrayed as the reason behind this shameful loss. The last time Brazil lost by a six-goal margin was way back in 1920 in Copa America against Uruguay.

Whichever team Jagger has announced his support for till now, has gone on to lose and exit the tournament. His wretched luck has earned him the nickname 'Pe Frio'- one who brings bad luck, from Brazilian fans.

Earlier during a concert in Rome, Jagger had predicted that Italy would beat Uruguay and advance to the knockout stages- Italy lost and were eliminated. Then he told Rolling Stones fans in Lisbon, that Portugal would win the World Cup. But Cristiano Ronaldo and company were also shown the exit door. And after rooting for his motherland England, the Three Lions were humiliated by Uruguay.

Repetition of 2010

On Tuesday, the Rolling Stones frontman was at the Belo Horizonte with his Brazilian son Lucas, supporting the Selecao. And in absence of skipper Thiago Silva and their talisman Neymar Jr. the five-time champions were bombed with seven goals from Die Mannschaft.

But it is not the first time that Brazil have blamed the rock legend for their losses. During the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Brazil's loss to Netherlands in the quarter-finals was blamed on Jagger for supporting them in the match.

Argentina take on Netherlands in Sao Paolo today in the second semi-final of the tournament. The winner of this clash will face Germany in the final, which will be the three-time World Cup champions' first final since 1990.
