Brexit: Manchester City target Nolito thinks Brexit is a form of dance
Spanish Professional Footballer Nolito has been making the news, not for his on-field activities but off the field. The Celta de Vigo star is currently a part of the Spanish squad, through to the round-of-16 of the UEFA Euro 2016 in France.
The Celta forward took part in a Spanish sports program last night and was asked if he was aware of what ‘Brexit’ is and this is what the Winger replied, “I think it's a dance, or maybe I'm wrong”. Understandably, Nolito has his focus on the European Championship and seems to have detached himself from the current affairs.
The ‘Brexit’ could affect the English Premier League and the foreign players involved in it will find things a bit harder if this change takes place. Nolito being a Manchester City target and more importantly, a Spanish citizen will have to consider these factors after finding ‘Brexit’ is not exactly a form of dance and think about his future move to the Premier League side.
What is Brexit?
For people who aren’t aware of what ‘Brexit’ is, it signifies ‘Britain’s Exit’ from the European Union. The people of the United Kingdom have voted in favor of Britain’s exit (Brexit) from the European Union which took place on the 23rd of June, 2016 and saw a turnout of more than 30 million people.
This will affect Britain’s economy (which has already hit a new low since 1986), and their Immigration Policies to name a few. The United Kingdom will not leave the Union immediately and it will take another couple of years to decide the terms of departure.
Time will tell how much of an impact the ’Brexit’ will have in the English Premier League and the way it has been functioning. Transfer of certain players like Granit Xhaka (Switzerland), IIkay Gungogan (Germany) and the possible signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden) in the English Premier League will be a tad difficult as these players are from countries that are a part of the European Union and might need to get a work permit.
More than 400 players moved across to different teams in the English League last season and though it is to be seen if they will be affected by this, the players who are interested in a move to the English league now will want to sit back and wait for things to stabilize.
The transfer values will keep fluctuating as well, making it harder to set a good price for any foreign player.
