Cadiz vs Las Palmas prediction, preview, team news and more | La Liga 2023-24
Cadiz continue their late push for survival when they play host to Las Palmas in the penultimate round of the 2023-24 La Liga campaign on Sunday. Garcia Pimienta’s men journey to the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla without a win in their last 12 matches and will be looking to end this dry spell
Sergi Guardiola grabbed the headlines on Wednesday as he netted a 96th-minute winner to hand Cadiz a 1-0 victory over Sevilla and keep their slim survival hopes alive.
This followed a 1-0 win over Getafe at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla on May 12 which saw their four-match winless run come to an end.
With 32 points from 36 matches, Cadiz are currently 18th in the La Liga table, four points behind 17th-placed Mallorca just outside the relegation zone.
Las Palmas, on the other hand, fought back from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw with Real Betis at the Gran Canaria Stadium in midweek.
With that result, Pimienta’s men have now gone 12 back-to-back games without a win, losing nine and claiming three draws since February’s 2-0 victory over Valencia.
With 38 points from 36 matches, Las Palmas are currently 13th in the La Liga standings, level on points with 15th-placed Rayo Vallecano.
Cadiz vs Las Palmas Head-To-Head
With seven wins from the last 18 meetings between the sides, Cadiz hold a slight upper hand in the history of this fixture. Las Palmas have picked up two fewer wins in that time, while the spoils have been shared on six occasions.
