Carles Puyol resumes training with Barcelona after a knee surgery
Barcelona skipper Carles Puyol returned to training with the club after being kept out with a knee injury for six months. BBC Sport reports.
“The team is getting its captain back and we have the centre-back we wanted,” said Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino.
The 35-year-old had gone under the knife for a keyhole surgery on his right knee, the second operation in less than a year. The Spanish international was joined by his team mates in the last part of the training session after originally training all by himself.
Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino failed to secure the services of Chelsea star David Luiz as a backup for the injured Puyol during the summer.
