Carlos Tevez says playing alongside Lionel Messi is not easy

Lionel Messi has occasionally struggled to replicate his club form for Argentina

Lionel Messi is considered to be the best player of this generation but his Argentina team-mate Carlos Tevez has revealed that he finds it difficult to play alongside the little maestro. Messi is preparing for the much waited El Clasico after guiding his national team to two consecutive victories against Chile and Bolivia in the World Cup qualifiers.

Lionel Messi scored his 50th international goal to help Argentina beat Bolivia 2-0 in a 2018 World Cup qualifier, however, Tevez feels that it is tough to keep up with the incredible skills and brilliance of the Barcelona star.

In general, it is easy to play with Messi," Tevez told reporters.

"But sometimes it can be very difficult, because we are all playing football, whereas he is playing an entirely different sport.

"Everything just comes so natural to him."

Tevez was left out of the Argentina squad for their recent 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia, but the Boca Juniors star remains hopeful of making it to the upcoming Copa America.

"I think that I have a 50 per cent chance of making the Argentina squad for the Copa," he added.

"I have to be better than just good if I want to make the squad because of all the fantastic champions Argentina have.

"I have to give 100 per cent if I want to wear the Argentina jersey again."

Lionel Messi told to prove identity during drug test

After the final whistle of the match against Bolivia was blown, the 28-year-old Barcelona star was not only chosen for a random drug test, but he was also forced to show his ID card to the CONMEBOL officials before they started the proceedings of the routine examination.

As per the reports by Marca, a couple of Argentine officials who had accompanied Lionel Messi to the drug-testing section needed to show some paperwork before the test got underway. The officials even rushed into the Argentine dressing room to get a hold of Messi's ID.

According to the Spanish paper, there was more to come for the Argentine star. After the conclusion of the drug-test, Lionel Messi was reportedly asked for a part of his kit as a souvenir from so many people that the 28-year-old Barcelona footballer had to return to the dressing room in nothing but his underwear.
