Casilla to replace Casillas?
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho substituted Iker Casillas in the game against Malaga and now this has triggered the debate of a possible replacement for the goalkeeper in the transfer window.
Mundo Deportivo has reported that Mourinho has insisted President Florentino Perez to seek an alternative for the Spanish International. It is understood that the first person on the list in Espanyol’s Kiko Casilla.
When Real Madrid was held on to a 2-2 draw by Espanyol two weeks ago, Casilla was praised highly by Mourinho.
Casilla getting praised by the Portuguese manager is not something new, as Mourinho wanted him in Chelsea back in 2006, when he was the Blues’ manager, and Casilla was in the youth ranks of the Real Madrid.
With Casilla enjoying a good season protecting the goal in Espanyol, the Real manager would be tempted to have Casilla’s name in the team instead of Casillas.
