Cavani in talks with Manchester City and Real Madrid, claims mother
The Uruguayan international, who is currently playing for his country at the Confederations Cup in Brazil, is one of most wanted strikers in the world and has a staggering amount of £53 million as a buyout clause affixed to him.
Though there are also reported rumors of interest from Chelsea and other clubs, Real and City are leading in the race for the illustrious striker, with the hopes of activating the buyout clause.
Cavani’s mother, Berta Gomez, in a radio interview in Montevideo, Uruguay said: “Edi is dealing,”
“In two or three weeks, we will know their fate and be able to say more,” she added.
Rumors about a potential move to Spanish side surfaced following alleged media reports claiming that Madrid was willing to pay a huge amount along with their striker Gonzalo Higuain, in exchange of Cavani.
However, Cavani did not share the same enthusiasm about transferring to the Bernabeu and was quoted as saying: “I don’t know if Spanish football suits me.”
“Football there is wonderful as everyone knows, you have more freedom, but I don’t know what will happen.”
