Sameehg Doutie has even represented the South African U-23’s seven times

The inaugural Indian Super League champions Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) have officially announced the addition of South African winger Sameehg Doutie for the second season of the Indian Super League.

Cape Town born Sameehg Doutie joins ATK from South African Premier Soccer League side Supersport United though he had spent the last six months on loan with rivals Bidvest Wits FC, while sister club Atletico de Madrid will look at his opportunities abroad and further his career abroad once his contract expires with ATK.

Sameehg Doutie, 26, started off his youth career with Schotsche Kloof, Seven Stars and Ajax Cape Town before getting his first break with Ajax Cape Town in 2007. After four years at the club, he joined South African giants Orlando Pirates, but after only one season he moved on to Supersport United and as mentioned earlier, he spent the last six months at Bidvest Wits FC, the former club of ATK coach Antonio López Habas.

Sameehg Doutie has seven caps for the South Africa Under-23s to his name and this summer had been to Scandinavia for a trial with Norwegian Tippeligaen side FK Haugesund.
