Champions League Final: Funny tweets during match
The Bayern Munich-Chelsea match might not have been a great spectacle until the final 10 minutes of the regulation time but the tweets kept everyone amused. Truly, every action has a reaction; if only Newton would have been alive to see his physics laws applying so perfectly to football. Each action of every player was under scrutiny for the entire duration of the match and, well, it resulted in a plethora of funny tweets.
To begin with, a few usual Franck Ribery jokes:
Chelsea’s Salomon Kalou decided to appear in the final with an intriguing hairstyle that kept many wondering throughout the course of the match. “Is it a tree? Is it a spider?”, they thought.
Chelsea were criticized for parking the bus yet again and not showing the flair with which football should be played. A few shouts for bringing the hot Chelsea physio on to the pitch were heard. The match was a drab one as Bayern attacked but Chelsea managed to keep them away till the 83rd minute when finally Thomas Muller broke the deadlock.
Five minutes later, Chelsea equalized. Drogba to the rescue, yet again.
We are into the extra time and Bayern get a penalty. Robben takes it, and misses. Missing in big matches is Robben’s thing.
Into the penalties and CHELSEA WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Suspended captain John Terry rushes to the dressing room, takes off his suit and wears the team kit.
Heading to the presentation ceremony, there was an unexpected guest engrossed in clicking photos on his camera. He was none other than Manchester United CEO David Gill. United fans criticized his actions but a few jumped to his defense.
