Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal: Gunners' Player Ratings as Gabriel Martinelli scores in a thrilling draw in west London | Premier League 2024-25
Arsenal and Chelsea played out an exciting 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday, November 10. The result sees the Blues move up a place into third with 19 points, while the Gunners trail them in fourth only on goal difference, after 11 games apiece.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal made strong starts to this London derby as they both looked to get on the scoresheet first. However, the hosts were a little too eager as they received two early bookings, with Levi Colwill and Pedro Neto getting in the referee's book. Two other players were booked in a rather uneventful first half but neither the Gunners nor Blues had a decent chance.
The only notable moment of the first period was Kai Havertz's goal in the 34th minute that was ruled out. Declan Rice found him and played him through from a quickly-taken free kick, but Havertz was marginally offside as spotted in the VAR check. With nearly equal splits in possession in the first half, both teams tried their best but were unable to break the deadlock.
Chelsea and Arsenal were tied goalless at the break.
The second half saw Arsenal show eagerness to grab the lead that had eluded them for so much of the first half. Gabriel Martinelli gave the Gunners just what they wanted with a cute finish at the near post to beat Robert Sanchez. Martin Odegaard released the Brazilian with a lovely lofted through pass towards the byline.
However, Chelsea were no pushovers and would not fall with ease on their own patch. Pedro Neto smashed in the leveler just 10 minutes after the Blues fell behind as he received a pass from Enzo Fernandez before smashing it low into the bottom-right corner. Despite multiple other attempts from both teams, neither was able to score again in the match.
Chelsea and Arsenal played out an interesting 1-1 draw, and on that note, let's take a look at the visitors' player ratings from this game.
