Reports: Juventus turned down a mammoth €95m bid by Chelsea for Paul Pogba last summer

A wanted man: Paul Pogba

Reports emerged last night that revealed Paul Pogba was subject to a massive €95m bid from English defending champions, Chelsea. The Frenchman currently plays for Juventus and has improved significantly at Turin to attract interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint German and Bayern Munich.

Chelsea were on the lookout for a midfielder last summer with John Obi Mikel and Ramirez both put on sale but with them unable to capture Pogba – Juventus rejected the bid – they held on to the Nigerian and the Brazilian.

Pogba has been in fine form for Juventus winning the last three Scudetto titles with ease and reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League last season eventually losing out to Liga BBVA giants, Barcelona.

The former Manchester United has scored 7 goals for Juventus as well as providing 9 assists for his teammates to put away. These figures and his general play has attracted a lot of interest from the big guns of Europe in Barcelona and Real Madrid with both – unofficially – often claiming they'd love to sign him when the window reopens.

Pogba left Manchester United in 2012 after falling out with then-manager Alex Ferguson over a new contract and playing time. Juventus were always interested in signing the youngster and snapped him up for a free transfer drafting him immediately to the first team.

A move back to England has also been long touted with Manchester United also claiming they're willing to work things out to ensure he can come back to a club where he feels welcomed. Chelsea, meanwhile, are currently 10th in the Premier League after a disastrous start to the campaign under Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, who was subsequently sacked and replaced by Dutchman and another former Chelsea manager, Guus Hiddink.

Pogba looks set to move away from Juventus this season and could potentially be the biggest fish in the summer transfer window.
